Grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Sumbing and Mount Sindoro, our Temanggung Arabica coffee thrives in rich volcanic soil and a cool highland climate. Hand-picked by smallholder farmers, each lot offers clarity, balanced acidity, and gentle sweetness that reflect Central Java’s distinctive terroir.
Nestled between the twin peaks of Mount Sumbing and Mount Sindoro, Temanggung lies in Central Java’s volcanic highlands. The fertile, mineral-rich soil and cool elevations — around 1,200 to 1,600 masl — nurture slow cherry maturation and distinctive flavor complexity.
Temanggung represents a balance of natural richness and human craftsmanship. Morning mists, moderate sunlight, and volcanic minerals create ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. This terroir contributes to the vibrant acidity, balanced sweetness, and clean finish that distinguish Temanggung Arabica coffee.
Generations of smallholder farmers have cultivated these highland slopes with dedication — combining traditional practices with careful selection to maintain quality and sustainability across each harvest.

The story of Temanggung Arabica coffee begins with a small circle of dedicated farmers who cultivate the volcanic slopes between Mount Sumbing and Mount Sindoro. Many of them manage less than two hectares of land, where coffee is grown alongside other crops as part of a balanced livelihood.
These farmers rely on traditional knowledge — selective picking, careful fermentation, and sun drying — passed down through generations. Each harvest reflects both experience and patience, shaping the authentic taste of Temanggung Arabica.
Wira Sarwa Asurya works closely with several farmer groups in Temanggung to improve post-harvest quality and access to export markets. Our ongoing collaboration focuses on building better consistency, documentation, and traceability readiness in the long term.
Each bean’s journey begins in the hands of farmers who harvest only ripe red cherries. From handpicking to careful drying and storage, every stage of processing is handled with attention to quality and transparency at origin.
Farmers handpick fully ripe cherries to ensure optimal sweetness and uniformity.
Defect removal and hand-sorting are carried out both at the farm and at post-harvest stations.
After hulling, green beans are stored in clean and dry warehouses to maintain quality before export preparation.
Beans are sun-dried on raised beds and turned regularly to reach ideal moisture levels and clean cup quality.
Each lot is checked for defects and moisture content. Cupping sessions are conducted to assess flavor clarity and balance.
Temanggung Arabica is celebrated for its balance — bright acidity, layered sweetness, and clean aftertaste. Cultivated on volcanic soil and processed with care, it delivers a flavor journey that reflects the soul of Central Java’s highlands.
Tropical Fruit: hints of pineapple, mango, and citrus bring vibrancy and freshness.
Floral Aroma: subtle jasmine and honey blossom add elegance and aromatic lift.
